Justice Dilip Gupta appointed as CESTAT President 

Former judge of the Allahabad High Court,   Justice Dilip Gupta, will be appointed to the post of President, Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT). 

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal for post of President, Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT).
The appointment is in the scale of pay of Rs. 250000/- (fixed) for a period of 03 years from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or till he attains the age of 65 years, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

Justice Gupta is a former judge of the Allahabad High Court. Born in 1956, Justice Gupta enrolled as an advocate on 10th December 1981. He has worked as standing counsel for the Railways, U.P. State Cement Corporation, U.P. Co-operative Federation Ltd., Aligarh Muslim University, Lucknow University, Gorakhpur University, G.B. Pant Social Science Institute.
