Delhi Judicial Services Exam Pattern 2018
The examination will be conducted in three phases:
Phase I – Preliminary Exam
Phase II – Mains Exam (Written)
Phase III – Viva Voce
Phase II – Mains Exam (Written)
Phase III – Viva Voce
Phase I – Preliminary Examination
Ø You will face the Preliminary exam first, which is an objective test of 200 marks.
Ø This will act as a screening test.
Ø The questions will be based on the following subjects –

Ø Constitution of India
Ø Code of Civil Procedure
Ø Code of Criminal Procedure

Section I – General Knowledge & Language
This will test your knowledge of Current Affairs, how updated you are with all the happenings around the world.

· This is to test your knowledge and power of expression in English.

· There will be Negative Marking.
· You will be given two passages for translating from English to Hindi (in Devanagari Script) and vice versa.
Section II – Civil Law I
You will be asked questions based on the Indian Contract Act, Indian Sale of Goods Act, Indian Partnership Act, Specific Relief Act, Hindu Law, Mohammadan Law, Delhi Rent Control Act and Law of Torts.
Section III – Civil Law-II
You will be asked questions based on Civil Procedure Code, Law of Evidence, Law of Limitation & Law of Registration.
Section IV – Criminal Law
You will be asked questions based on Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code & Indian Evidence Act.
**Minimum marks are 40% in written paper and aggregate of 50% to qualify for Viva Voce. Relaxation of 5% each has been made for SC/ST/PwD.
Phase III – Viva Voce :
Ø Viva Voce (Interview) will carry 150 marks.
Ø You need to score at least 50 % (Relaxable by 5% for RC) to qualify.
Ø Aggregate of the marks obtained by you in both Viva and Written exam will determine your position.
